 Holy Week is the most sacred week in the liturgical year in Christianity. For all Christian traditions it is a moveable observance. In Eastern Christianity, which also calls it Great Week, it is the week following Great Lent and Lazarus Saturday, starting on the evening of Palm Sunday and concluding on the evening of Great Saturday. In Western Christianity, Holy Week is the sixth and last week of Lent, beginning with Palm Sunday and concluding on Holy Saturday.  So Holy Week in the Philippines starts from Palm Sunday. This is where we celebrate Jesus’ entry to Jerusalem. Filipinos diligently attend mass on this day and hold their palm fronds which they can buy or create as a vestige of the celebration. On Holy, Monday, numerous religious people visit seven churches to pray and consider the Stations of the Cross inside and outside town. This is called “Viseta Iglesia”. This year's theme, "WE for gender equality and inclusive society," highlights the importance of empowering women to take on the challenges of a rapidly changing world. It is a reminder of the crucial role that women play in shaping our society and the need to create a more inclusive and equitable world for all women.   Throughout history, women have made significant contributions to society despite facing various forms of discrimination and inequality. ISNHS' 121st Birthday

      Ilocos Sur National High School commemorates its 121st Foundation Day last March 25, 2023. After almost three years, filled with sorrow and grief, finally been replaced with joy and excitement. The program contained memorable and heartwarming events.     The program formally started with a thanksgiving mass, followed by welcome remarks and heartfelt messages by special guests. Then an intermission number was performed by us, 10-Maxwell; the champions of the school's hip-hop dance competition. Then, awarding of outstanding teachers came next. Noon struck and the most exciting part of the program came; The Field Demonstration. The first performance was the "Galaw Pilipinas" calisthenics. The field was filled with numerous talented students from different grade levels in the Junior High and teachers. After that, the festival dances performed by the 9th graders of ISNHS.
